The
USS Halfbeak Association was officially formed at the Halfbeak Reunion on
June 29, 2002, by the adoption of our (then proposed) by-laws.
The purpose of our organization is three fold.
First, to maintain camaraderie among former crewmembers, officers and
enlisted, who honorably served on board the USS Halfbeak (SS-352).
Second, to plan, schedule and conduct periodic reunions for all living
shipmates, spouses, families, friends, and widows…including families and
friends of those shipmates no longer with us.
Third, to provide an opportunity to renew old acquaintances and pay
devotional respects to memories of deceased shipmates.
In
order to have a strong, active organization we need the support of as many
shipmates as possible. Our goal is
100% affiliation. If you are not a
member yet, there is no better time than now to join.
Please take the time to fill out our membership application and send it
in to our association secretary with your dues.
All
USS Halfbeak Association dues money is used to cover our administrative
costs, such as postage, office supplies, newsletter publication, and website
maintenance. Our mission is to keep
all of our shipmates, spouses, widows, honorary members, and associate members
informed of all our association activities.
This will ultimately preserve the memory of the USS Halfbeak.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Joe
“Duck” Hegyi
Commander,
USS Halfbeak Association
